Eating fruits for breakfast

What do you usually eat for breakfast, the most important meal of the? Does it include fruits? If not then you should start adding them into your first meal of the day. Must be wondering why specifically in breakfast when you can have fruits throughout the day?  Well, eating toast and eggs for breakfast may be tasty but it won’t leave you energized. Start your day instead with fresh fruit.

Fruit digest faster on an empty stomach than any other food. Therefore, the best time to eat fruit is in the morning when you break fast. Imagine a scenario where someone is having a muffin and an apple for breakfast and taking alternate bites from each food. What happens with the muffin is that it interrupts the passage of the apple from going directly to the gut, which in turn, causes the apple to remain undigested in the stomach for too long. When fruit is undigested, it tends to ferment and rot and ultimately leads to digestive discomforts like gas and bloating. If the apple or any fruit were eaten alone, it would pass unobstructed through the digestive system to begin the process of detoxifying the body. Consuming high-energy fruits like apples, bananas, pears and blueberries make your stomach feel fuller for longer periods. A high-water content fruit like watermelon has a similar effect. Generally, all fruits can be eaten for breakfast.

Just try it and see how wonderful you feel...

  1. Thanks for this eye opening post. Till date I was under the intuition that we should not have fruits empty stomach as it can give rise to acidity problem etc. But now realised that it was a myth.
